Performing-recording artist Judy Frankel has concertized throughout
the U.S., Europe, E. Europe and Cuba. She learned the Sephardic repertoire
in the 500-year old Oral Tradition from Jewish descendants of 15th-century Spain. Started in 1963, her song-collection includes both traditional and contemporary holiday songs, lullabyes, and love songs in Judeo-Spanish,
liturgical songs in a mixture of Spanish and Hebrew, and material learned
from Crypto-Jews (Conversos) in Spanish and Portuguese. She is included
in numerous films and documentary videos about Sephardic culture and
has four recordings of Sephardic music.
